The SGS Library is located at the Good Shepherd Center in the Wallingford neighborhood of north Seattle.
Nearest Metro Bus routes are 62 and 44 (see map and descriptions below).
We are closed most holidays and when driving conditions are difficult.
If in doubt, please call the library before visiting.

- From I-5 (North or South), take Exit 169 for NE 50th Street.
- From the intersection on the west side of I-5, travel westbound on NE 50th Street (toward the Zoo, away from the U District).
- At the fourth stoplight, on top of a hill, turn left onto Sunnyside Avenue North.
- Good Shepherd Center is in the park on your right. Turn right into the second driveway.
- Turn left into the parking lot.
- Enter through the east front of the building, up the stairs to the main level (2nd floor), or by using the ramp entrance to the left and under the staircase as you approach from the parking lot. The ramp entrance leads to the elevator.
- The SGS Library is on the 3rd floor, one flight of stairs up from the main level (2nd floor).
- On the 3rd floor, from the top of the stairs or the elevator proceed south, turn to the right, then left down the corridor to Suite 302 on the left.
Detailed Directions and Parking

The Good Shepherd Center is in a park located at the south-east corner of the intersection of N 50th St and Meridian Ave N in the Wallingford neighborhood (note: N 50th St is at Exit 169 from I-5). It is on the east side of this park, and is accessed from Sunnyside Ave N, the street just to the east of this intersection (see map). There is a traffic light at the intersection of N 50th St and Sunnyside Ave N. This is the first traffic light after the one at Meridian if you are headed east on N 50th St, or the first traffic light after the double lights at Latona Ave NE and Thackeray Pl NE if you are headed west. Turn south off of N 50th St onto Sunnyside.
Sunnyside is a typical Seattle two-way street, narrow with cars parked on both sides of the street. The entrance to the parking area is an even narrower one-way road located just south of the lawn area in front of the Center. The parking area is the first left after your turn onto the narrow entry road. Handicapped parking is on the west side of this lot, and parking is open in most of the other spots in this area. If you cannot find parking in this lot, we are told that there is typically no problem finding parking on a street in the surrounding neighborhood.
When you leave the parking area, remember that the entrance loop is a one-way street – turn to the left onto the loop, not right. Take care in exiting the loop – the exit onto Sunnyside Ave N has heavy shrubs on either side, and there is a sidewalk across the exit as well. Watch out for pedestrians and bicyclists.
Bus Routes
(See map on right above. Note, there is no bus stop service on N 50th St near the park.)
Metro Bus 62 is a north-south route served by stops on Meridian Ave N located between N 48th and N 49th St on the west side of the park. Exit the rear (west side) of the Good Shepherd Center building and walk directly west across the park.
Metro Bus 44 is an east-west route served by stops on N 45th St just to the east of Corliss Ave N. Exit the south end of the Good Shepherd Center building, cross the parking area, and walk south down Corliss Ave N.
