The Northwest African American Museum is located in the historic Colman School building, constructed in 1909. As a part of our study of historical context, we invite you to join us there on a guided tour to learn more about Black heritage, including how African Americans got to the Pacific Northwest.

Learn how to use maps, deeds, censuses, and other resources to paint a full picture of a property’s historical significance.
