Lookup Services
Volunteers will conduct lookups for the following:
- King County Court Case Index (KC3I), 1881-1980: Index of probate and divorce in King County from 1891 to 1980. More Information about this unique collection, including fees, and how to submit a lookup request can be found on the King County Court Cases Index Page.
- Seattle Obituaries: The Seattle Times (1895-1984, 2018-current), Seattle Post-Intelligencer (1901-2009) or the Christine Pulliam Obituary Collection (1996-2006).
- Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Membership Cards: Approximately 25,000 original membership cards from 2 Seattle area VFW posts. The typical membership card provides the veteran's name, birth date, address and details of their military service. Some cards may also provide the specific location(s) of the veterans service, occupation (in and out of the military) and name(s) of relatives.
- 1890 Seattle Substitute Census: Includes transcription and index of the 1889 Washington Territorial Censes for residents of the City of Seattle, also incorporates the 1888-1889 Seattle City Directory and the 1890 census for the City of Ballard
- SGS will also complete a lookup in materials listed in the SGS Library catalog and articles appearing in the Journal of Seattle Genealogical Society (formerly SGS Bulletin)
The fee for non-members is $15 per name.
